The Mary And Deborah Generation Conference Hosted By Mpanga Busingye Church in Rubirizi, Western Uganda

A Transformational Gathering: Reflecting on the Mary And Deborah Generation Conference in Rubirizi, Western Uganda

The recent Mary And Deborah Generation Conference hosted by Mpanga Busingye Church in Rubirizi District, Western Uganda, Pastored by Pastor Jane Tumusiime , was nothing short of a divine outpouring—a time of deep spiritual awakening, equipping, and revival.

Held in one of Uganda’s most breathtaking regions, nestled near Queen Elizabeth National Park, with its rolling hills, serene lakes, and vibrant wildlife, the conference became a spiritual oasis for believers hungry for God’s Word.

People traveled from Kasese, Bushenyi, and beyond, converging in unity to be refreshed, realigned, and reignited for kingdom purpose. The atmosphere was electric, filled with worship, powerful teachings, and life-changing encounters.

The Deborah Generation: Women of Purpose Rising

One of the most profound themes of the conference was the Deborah Generation, women called not just to serve but to lead with wisdom, courage, and divine strategy.

  • Deborah was a mother in Israel (Judges 4-5), yet she rose beyond societal limitations to judge, prophesy, and lead a nation to victory.
  • She did not seek a title but answered God’s call, standing in the gap when men were silent.
  • Like Deborah, today’s women must embrace their God-given authority, not in competition with men, but in partnership to advance God’s kingdom.

"Make Disciples, Not Crowds"

A powerful message echoed throughout the conference: Jesus did not call us to gather crowds but to make disciples (Matthew 28:19).

  • Many ministries today chase numbers, large followings, big events, but Jesus’ model was deep investment in a few.
  • Disciples are committed, teachable, and reproducible, unlike crowds that come for miracles but disappear when the bread runs out (John 6:26).                                                                       Jesus spent three years with twelve men, yet they turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6).

The call is clear: We must shift from entertainment to transformation, from popularity to permanence in God’s work.

The Mary Generation: Sitting Before Serving

Before Mary became a vessel for the Gospel, she first sat at Jesus’ feet (Luke 10:39). This was a key emphasis:

  • Many burn out in ministry because they serve from emptiness.
  • Worship must precede work. If we skip intimacy with God, our labor becomes human effort, not Holy Spirit power.                                                                                                                    Martha was busy serving, but Jesus said Mary chose the "better portion" (Luke 10:42).

The conference challenged women (and men) to prioritize devotion before duty, because only those rooted in Christ can bear lasting fruit (John 15:5).

The Marriage Session: Restoring God’s Original Design

One of the most impactful sessions was on marriage, a divine institution under attack today.

How Marriage Began vs. How It Is Now

  • God’s Design: "A man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24).
  • Today’s Reality: Many marriages suffer from power struggles, silence, and role confusion.

The Silence of Men: A Call to Rise

  • Men have been spiritually silenced, through cultural shifts, fear, or passivity.
  • Husbands are called to lead in love (Ephesians 5:25), not dominate or disappear.
  • The boy child must be raised to be a godly man, strong in faith, responsibility, and vision.

Women as "Bones of Support"

  • Just as Eve was called a "helper" (Genesis 2:18), women are not competitors but completers.
  • A wife’s strength should uplift, not undermine, her husband’s leadership.

The message was clear: No more silence. No more power struggles. It’s time for men and women to take their God-ordained positions.

The Katerera Crusade: Businesses Paused to Hear God's Word

we witnessed a mighty move of God in Katerera town, where we held an open-air crusade that drew shopkeepers, boda-boda riders, market vendors, and families, all with ears open to receive the Word.

The love of God was palpable as people abandoned their daily routines to encounter Jesus.

Powerful worship and praise filled the air, breaking spiritual strongholds over the region.

A prophetic word from Zechariah 1:18-21 was shared by Pastor Modern , the vision of the four horns and four craftsmen.

The Horns and the Craftsmen: God's Promise of Restoration

In Zechariah's vision:

The four horns represented oppressive forces that had scattered Judah (Zechariah 1:19).

The four craftsmen (carpenters) symbolized God’s appointed deliverers who would break every oppression (Zechariah 1:20-21).

This message ignited faith, just as God raised deliverers for Israel, He is raising Deborahs, Marys, and disciples in Uganda to break every bondage and rebuild what the enemy has stolen!

A Power-Packed Gathering in the Pearl of Africa

Beyond the teachings, the conference was a celebration of Ugandan beauty and culture.

  • The Banyaruguru people blessed us with delicious cuisines!
  • The scenic backdrop of Rubirizi, lakes, mountains, and wildlife, reminded us of God’s majesty.
  • The hunger for Jesus was palpable, people wept, repented, and received fresh fire for ministry.

The Fire Continues

The Mary And Deborah Generation Conference was more than an event, it was a movement.

  • Women are rising in purpose.
  • Disciples are being made, not just crowds gathered.
  • Marriages are being restored to God’s original intent.
  • Men are breaking silence and leading again.

The fire ignited in Rubirizi must not die, it must spread across Uganda and beyond. We are the Deborahs, the Marys, the disciples who will transform nations!

Stay tuned for the next gathering. God is not done with us yet!
