Youth Rise to Stand in Their Generation

A Day of Awakening: Youth Rise to Stand in Their Generation

The air in Sembabule buzzed with a different kind of energy this past Friday . It wasn't just the sound of youthful conversation; it was the sound of purpose being ignited. At the Cross Connection International Ministries, youth from every corner of the district gathered for a seminar that would shift their perspective and charge their spirits. Under the banner “Standing in Your Generation,” taken from the timeless call of Psalm 145:4, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts,” a powerful charge was delivered.

The day was rich with wisdom, drawn from the very heart of God’s word. Our esteemed guests, Min. Percie Patience and Bishop Stephen Kiyaya, served as divine messengers, delivering crucial words for this pivotal time.

Words to the Youth from the God of the Bible:
You are not an accident. You are chosen for such a time as this. Jeremiah 29:11 echoes in heaven for you: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Your destiny is under divine protection, not up for grabs by the enemy.

Words from the Wisest Man Who Ever Lived:
King Solomon, gifted with unparalleled wisdom, speaks directly to the distractions of this age: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The clarion call was for focus, to fix our eyes not on the chaos, but on the Author of our faith.

Words from the Master Himself:

Jesus Christ, our perfect example, calls us to a foundation of love and humility. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). We were reminded that the fight for our generation is won on our knees in prayer and through walking in genuine, Christ-like love.

A profound revelation settled in the hearts of all present: the enemy has attacked the glory of this generation. He seeks to cloud identity, steal purpose, and destroy destinies before they even begin. But the message was clear: it is time to stand and undo these works. It is time to break the evil patterns passed down, to refuse the lies, and to reclaim what has been stolen through prayer, honor, and unwavering faith.

The teaching on honor was transformative, honor for God, for parents, for leaders, and for one another, creating a culture where God’s blessing can flow freely. We were urged to understand that “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble” (James 4:6). Our strength lies not in our own might, but in our humble dependence on Him.

And what is a youth gathering without the vibrant expression of fellowship and energy? The seminar spilled onto the sports field for a thrilling football match between the seminar attendees and the Mijwala Youth Football Team. Laughter, cheers, and friendly competition filled the Evenning , a beautiful picture of unity and healthy community. As leaders and their teams shared refreshments, bonds were strengthened, and the lessons of the day were woven into the fabric of friendship.

It was, without a doubt, an amazing day, a day of inspiration, motivation, and divine alignment. The youth of Sembabule left not just informed, but equipped and empowered.

To the Youth of This Generation:

The baton is in your hands. Stand firm. Pray fervently for each other, for your families, and for our nation. Let love be your compass and humility your cloak. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Do not be afraid to undo what is wrong and build what is right. You are called to commend God’s works to your peers and to the next generation.

Rise up. Stand in your generation. Your time is now.
